Western Kentucky University worked with internal stakeholders to align and refine their existing practices and procedures by process mapping the student lifecycle to leverage existing resources. Some business processes that were improved and streamlined include rolling admissions, transition from orientation to advising, pre-assessments, and refund and withdrawal processes. Western Kentucky University has also utilized technology to provide online tutoring, an online writing center, library tutorials, and more. A new feature recently implemented alerts students as they near the end of their enrollment period, as it is tied to federal financial aid. This will help keep students on track and eligible for aid. WKU continues to search for ways to utilize technological solutions in order to meet programmatic and learner needs.
